Modern Hearing Aids for a Modern World

Hearing aids are a great, non-invasive solution to hearing loss. Many users report that ever since they started wearing hearing aids, their quality of life has dramatically improved. In fact, many of them wish they had started wearing hearing aids sooner. The benefits are felt in every area of a person’s life. For example, hearing aids strengthen relationships with friends and co-workers because it improves communication. In addition, many studies show that hearing well can reduce stress, increase energy, and boost your mental alertness. In a world inundated with sounds, hearing aids can help you hear what you want to hear, while automatically reducing background noise.

With all the advancements in technology, it’s no surprise that there are many different hearing aid models. However, what all modern hearing aids have in common is their unbelievably small size. Both in-the-ear and behind-the-ear devices are the size of a coffee bean. In terms of technology, the latest hearing aids are basically mini super computers that use advanced algorithms to process sounds and deliver crystal-clear sound. Finding the right hearing aid depends on a number of factors. In this page, you will learn more about the different models, manufacturers, and more. If you have any additional questions, you can contact a hearing aid expert from hear.com for a free, unbiased consultation.

Hearing aids are usually the best option to help correct untreated hearing loss and resume a high quality of life. Many types and styles are available to suit every preference and lifestyle.

What is a hearing aid?

Hearing aids are small electronic devices that can be highly customized to address different types of hearing loss. All digital hearing aids contain at least one microphone to pick up sound, a computer chip that amplifies and processes sound, a speaker that sends the signal to your ear and a battery for power. More sophisticated models provide additional features, such as direct connection to a smartphone or rechargeable batteries.

How do hearing aids help with hearing loss?

A hearing aid amplifies the sounds going into the ear. They are most often prescribed for people who have a type of hearing loss known as “sensorineural,” meaning that some of the tiny hair cells of the inner ear are damaged. The surviving healthy hair cells pick up the sound delivered by the hearing aid and send them as neural signals to the brain via the auditory nerve.

For people with mild-to-moderate hearing loss, standard hearing aids work best. “Power” models are often used for people who have severe-to-profound hearing loss.

How do I get hearing aids?

Hearing aids are typically recommended if your hearing test results show hearing loss across several pitches (or frequencies). Hearing aids are sold at hearing and audiology clinics across the Bangladesh., as well as online. Our extensive directory of consumer-reviewed hearing centers can help you find a local clinic.

It also means hearing aids can connect to external sources of sound that are transmitted wirelessly, such as via Bluetooth.

How to Get Hearing Aids?

The traditional process of getting hearing aids can be tiresome for many people. However, at Advanced Hearing, we make it super easy and convenient for you to improve your hearing. From scheduling all your appointments to making sure you find the perfect devices, we take care of everything for you. Below are the steps you would normally take to find a suitable device and the advantages of letting us walk you through each one.

Step 1 – Get your hearing tested
Schedule an appointment with an audiologist or hearing instrument specialist and have your hearing tested. Some common types of hearing tests include: pure tone test, speech test, middle ear test.

**Advanced Hearing advantage**: First, one of our hearing consultants gives you free expert advice over the phone. If you like what you hear and want to move forward with us, we look for a specialist near you and schedule your hearing test appointment.

Step 2 – Choose your hearing aids
With the results from your test (also called an audiogram), the audiologist or hearing instrument specialist will recommend specific hearing aids for you to choose from. Besides your audiogram, there are three important factors that go into choosing the right devices: the technology level you need, your lifestyle, your budget.
Once you decide on a pair of devices, you will have to schedule another appointment to have them fitted and programed.

**Advanced Hearing advantage**: In some cases, we can order the hearing aids beforehand, so you don’t have to come back to the office for a second time. This means your hearing aids will be ready for you at your appointment! Make sure to ask our hearing consultant if you qualify for this option.

Step 3 – Have your hearing aids fitted
As previously mentioned, once your devices have been ordered, you will have to return to have them fitted.

**Advanced Hearing advantage**: we give you 7 days to try them out risk-free. During this trial period, you can go back to the specialist’s office and have them fine-tuned so they meet your exact needs. If you’re not satisfied with the devices after 7 days, simply return them for a full refund. We do not charge any restocking fees unlike many other providers. In addition, most of our hearing aids come with a 3 year warranty!

Step 4 – Try them out in your everyday life
Enjoy your new hearing aids and experience all the sounds you’ve been missing out on. Reach out to your personal hearing consultant at any time should you have any questions.

How Do Hearing Aids Work?

To put it simply: Hearing aids supplement our hearing. But how exactly do they work? Firstly, hearing aids are designed to receive sounds from the outside world, just like a healthy ear would do. To do so, they include microphones as part of the design, which take sounds and convert them into vibrations, and then into electrical impulses.

However, at this stage these signals are often too weak, and need to be amplified before they can be converted into something wearers can actually hear. Amplifiers inside the hearing aid casing do the job, turning even very quiet noises into signals that can be turned into audible noise.

The final part of the hearing aid is (usually) the speaker, which takes these amplified signals and produces noise. The precise sound level can almost always be finely calibrated, depending on the environment and the wearer’s degree of deafness. Many hearing aids can also be calibrated to amplify high or low frequency sounds, again, depending on the user’s needs.
